Oil and Gas

With the growing demand for petroleum products, the oil industry has to find new sources and methods of extracting oil. Extracting oil is a dangerous and time consuming process that is very demanding on its machinery. Powerful drills are needed to create the well. Elaborate pump systems are needed to extract oil out of the ground. Here at Thompson Foundry, we have worked with the oil industry by providing them with specialized pump components. We understand that new methods and machinery are needed to extract oil. Providing the oil industry the casts they need for this new technology is something that we take great pride in.

Mining

We produce many castings for the mining industry, pump impellers, pump casings, wear plates, wheels, bearing housings, wear liners, crusher parts etc.

Pulp and Paper

Thompson Foundry is the leader in providing replacement parts for the pulp and paper industry. Some of the products we offer for this industry include dust collector cones, moving grates, stationary grates, wear plates, boiler doors, recovery boiler spray nozzles, airport collars, and rotary dust seals. In many cases we have been able to work the customers engineers and come up with casting alloy and design changes that will make the castings last longer.

Pumps

We produce pump components for several pump OEM customers. Parts include, impellers, casings, bearing side liners, agitators, seal housings. Typical alloys are cast iron, niresist, hichrome white iron and stainless steel. CD4MCu, A532 3A, and CF8M are the most common, but all other alloys that we produce are available for pump components. We can also produce replacement parts, expecially important for customers where the pump component that they need is no longer available.

Rail

Thompson Foundry has created various castings for the rail industry. Key components such as adjusting blocks and specialized washers were created for this industry.

Gear and Transmission

We produce bearing housings, clutch housings, gear blanks, bushings.

Marine

Thompson Foundry got its start making water cooled marine exhaust manifolds and we still make manifolds and other marine parts. Transmission adaptors, engine mounts etc are some of the components that we produce for the marine industry.

Miscellaneous

Though we specialize in pumps and pulp and paper parts, we also do a lot of custom work. If you provide the pattern a drawing or sample casting, we can create it. Some of the custom jobs that we have worked on include antique car castings, steam engine castings, and architectural castings.
